Korean Wave + Outing with buddies on 14 Jul

*sigh* Once again i have got time to rest. No i am not on MC, i sprained my leg once again. Same leg, same thing (kerb) but in a worst condition. Luckily I am more prepared this time. I have got all the time in the world now, to blog and to study for my exam next week. Decided to update my blog while watching my anime and movies. It's gonna be super long as i am so bored not knowing what to do.

My 1st part will be on Food. Korean food to be exact.

Let's start with korean Ramen. It looks hot but it is really nice. For some reason, there is always a side dish. Ippai~ neh. I feel that my roots are more towards jap for some reason. Really tough learning korean. zzz.. got the basic though, i hope. :)

Wiped it super clean. I am a PIG. *onik. Next up is also a type of noodle, like the malay lontong, it is noodles. Starch noodles? LOL.. The side dish is like carrot cake korean style. Oiishi~ desu.

It actually looks like cuttlefish with eggs. hehe.. Next the full set meal. Sometimes i really wonder if i go there for tution or food. Just look at the spread. Different student house but still an amazing spread. It is actually ban mian, korean style with lots of chili. OMG, i can't take hot stuff. Actually i still prefer my GOD-OMA's cooking, it taste better.. dun noe why, even it is a simple instant noodle. :)

That's it for the korean food. Now it is time for Outings!! Planned an outing last saturday to Aspire cafe as i had a $30 Voucher. So i "chio" ah tai and mooky out. It was located at Joo Chiat.

Once we arrive, ah tai suggested to go to the temple and pray so i did. There was so many things to keep in mind so i just prayed for my family, pray that i will score well for my presentation (which i did!) and exam and lastly mooky's "feng Mo" to subside.

After praying, we went to aspire cafe but the voucher can't be used anymore cause it expired yesterday. zzz.. so we losting for a while then decided to just take walk. Found this shop that sells really nice smelling Otah so we bought the mackeral one and shared. 3 person share one - so gay.. hehe.. after that we continue walking to this market and sat down for a drink. The shop was called Tekong something. The soya bean is really good, chin chow plus beancurd was nice too..

After that we continued walking to katong. Walking is nice -.- esp when with friends. Then mooky wanted to eat the famous tau kua pao.

Then we crossed opposite to walk in a aircon place. Saw this shop that only sells chocolate. 1 flavour ice cream. Nice~ bought it without thinking. $3.10 for one scoop. So expensive but i liked it alot. can fight with Ben & Jerry's.

and yes, the box is really nice and small so kawaii~

After that we crossed another road and decided to have some laksa since we are in Katong after all. Ah tai choose a shop that he never ate before - 326 if i remembered correctly. It taste quite good and the war has upgraded since last time, with most of the stalls having aircon place.

It really taste good, even the chili goes really well. But it looks funny to others - one bowl 3 guys sharing and 1 Hen~ person keep taking photos. keke..

After the laksa escapde, we headed to marine parade for a drink. actually we couldn't decide what do then. till dinner that is. Weiyao said K-Box, ah tai said pool, but both look super expensive on a saturday. So i suggested - "library"! we are nerds anyway. :P

The library here looks fantastic - they have dvd games, movies shows to borrow, and wide variety of books to borrow. So i applied for membership and we borrow games home. At level 2 there was this interesting Dome shaped thing which has the ability to play music and yet not disturb othe patrons in the library. Some sound wave theory that only weiyao and ah tai could understand. really alien to me sia..

Found this 2 place while walking to katong to have lunch at this really kool place but can't book. Mel's place -> my younger brother owns this place? and a very lok kok place that ah lau owns. haha.. it is arcadia wonder what that place is. By the way, night life in katong is really really happening kinda like geylang? LOL

Finally we walked to Aston's Specialities. Really long walk with my bag so heavy due to morning's mentoring session. There were soo many people and we had to wait for at least 30 minutes before we got a seat. I think the best part was alot of things were sold out when we finally manage to get a seat. Moreover they sold WAGU Beef! one of the best beef you can get but i didn't order it as ah tai and mooky can't eat beef. Also it is "chu yi"!

Just look at the queue. it still goes on and on after 9pm.. Nuts..

And just look at the bill. only $27.10 for all the food we ordered. Ittadakimas~

After our dinner at katong, weiyao suggested to go geylang eat tau huay as we were quite near anyway. My poor stomach did not really get to rest at all. Well mooky and ah tai's back view look similar in some sense. I have always been looking at their back, and never been able to catch up anymore. Here we are walking to geylang. So many people, cars and "ahem" prosituites. Eek I hate that place.

Here at the tau huay stall. made a fool of myself by asking for "butterfly". zzz i dun like the attitude of the stall owner/workers. Rather eat tau huay at the tekong stall lor. *SIGH*

After the tau huay break, while walking towards the bus stop i saw durians! Hey since we are on the food escapde why not eat some durians? hehe..

still so many cars. I hate traffic jams. makes me feel frustrated. zzz

We decided on the durian stall nearest to kallang mrt. We bought the $5 durian instead of the 'bao cheah' ($8 - 1kg) one. Have to choose ourself. Man, hopefully mooky learns the technique from his ojiichan fast or no more durian for us sia. As usual, i just sat and eat while both of them opened the durian. I am a weakling.. :) Just FYI: do you know that the insides of the durian husk can be used to wash of the smell from your hand by running water through it? Thanks ah tai for the tip, though i never tried it.. hehehe.. Poor mooky couldn't eat as he had 'feng mo'. Durian said to be a poisonous food? Lmao. Gome~ neyh mooky, should have tell me earlier. I felt so insensitive sia. some more ask him help mi choose. No wonder the durian not really gd :P keke.. Nice experience sia.. but really tired and feel asleep once i reach home.

The day after i have all day long tution so must rest. 1pm to 9pm it too much for me. Though it is much better than studying living with maths or doing presentation.
